ABOUT VENGER
Venger are a British heavy metal band founded by Doug Scarratt and James Fogarty, bringing together a shared love of classic heavy metal, cinema, folklore and storytelling. Although the band only came together in 2024, their chemistry was immediate, rooted in a mutual appreciation for metal as escapism - a place where imagination, myth and history collide far from everyday reality. The name Venger itself is drawn from the one-horned sorcerer in Dungeons & Dragons, a fitting symbol for the band’s fantasy-driven world.
Scarratt’s history as a guitarist’s guitarist is well known through his work with Saxon, while Fogarty brings a broad musical background shaped by projects spanning black, progressive and atmospheric metal. Together, they form a partnership that balances instinctive solo-driven guitar work with strong melodies and narrative focus. Joined by vocalist Franz Bauer and drummer Sven Rothe, Venger operate as a band devoted to songs first - each track a self-contained tale, designed to be immersive rather than disposable.
That approach defines Times of Legend, Venger’s debut studio album released via Silver Lining Music. Written and produced by Scarratt and Fogarty, the album draws inspiration from ancient myths, classic horror, historical figures and fantasy worlds, unfolding like a heavy metal storybook where every song turns a new page.
