ABOUT TYKETTO

Tyketto are an American rock band formed in Keansburg, New Jersey in 1988, built on a melodic rock sound that balances big hooks, emotional lift and a hard-won sense of optimism. Taking their name from graffiti spotted on a handball wall in Brooklyn, NY, the band quickly established themselves as songwriters with a gift for turning real life experience into anthemic, open-hearted rock music. Fronted by founding vocalist Danny Vaughn, Tyketto have remained a respected and enduring presence across more than three decades.

Rising to prominence in the early 1990s, Tyketto became widely admired for their ability to fuse classic hard rock muscle with melody-driven songwriting, earning a loyal international following that has only grown with time. While trends have shifted, the band’s core values have remained consistent - songs rooted in hope, resilience and the belief that music has the power to heal, uplift and connect.

That spirit is very much alive on Closer To The Sun, their sixth studio album, released in 2026. Supremely crafted and rich in emotional detail, the album finds Tyketto speaking directly to the listener about true loves, losses and pleasures, from triumphant, anthemic highs to raw, punchy moments built to make fists rise and hearts race. It’s confident, heartfelt rock music that proudly stands shoulder to shoulder with the genre’s greats while remaining unmistakably Tyketto.

With Danny Vaughn joined by Harry Scott Elliott (guitar), Ged Rylands (keyboards), Chris Childs (bass) and Johnny Dee (drums), Tyketto continue to reaffirm their place as one of melodic rock’s most criminally underrated and enduring bands - still writing, still touring, and still chasing the sun.
