ABOUT URIAH HEEP
Uriah Heep are an English rock band formed in London in 1969 and widely recognised as pioneers of hard rock, heavy metal and progressive rock. Emerging from the fertile early-1970s British rock scene, the band quickly established a signature sound built on explosive guitars, rich vocal harmonies and a powerful, expansive keyboard foundation. With a catalogue that includes enduring songs such as ‘Easy Livin’’, ‘July Morning’, ‘The Wizard’, ‘Gypsy’ and ‘Lady in Black’, Uriah Heep have secured a permanent place in rock history.
Across a career spanning more than five decades, Uriah Heep have sold over 40 million albums worldwide and remain a formidable live force, particularly across Europe, Scandinavia and Japan. The band’s longevity has been underpinned by a refusal to stand still creatively, continuing to tour extensively and release new material while honouring the spirit and identity that defined their classic era.
That creative fire burns brightly on Chaos & Colour, released in 2023, an album bristling with classic rock energy, soaring melodies and Heep’s famously generous sense of scale. Produced by Jay Ruston, the record showcases the band in full command of their craft, with songs that balance power and reflection while reinforcing their reputation for timeless songwriting and performance.
Now well into their sixth decade, Uriah Heep continue to create and perform with a vitality that defies expectation, proving that experience, chemistry and belief in the music remain the most powerful forces of all.
