ABOUT EUROPE
Europe are a Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1979, a group whose rise and longevity have secured them a place among the greats of modern rock music. They first achieved a major breakthrough in Sweden in 1982 by winning the televised Rock-SM (Swedish Rock Championships), becoming a bigger success than the competition itself and setting the foundation for an international career.
The band rose to global fame in the 1980s with their third album The Final Countdown, released in 1986. The album and its title track became worldwide phenomena, with ‘The Final Countdown’ reaching No. 1 in 25 countries and the album selling more than 15 million copies. Alongside further hits such as ‘Rock the Night’ and ‘Carrie’, Europe established themselves as one of the era’s defining rock bands. Since their formation, the band have released eleven studio albums, multiple live recordings and compilations, and have sold over 25 million albums worldwide.
Following a hiatus in the 1990s and an official reunion in 2003, Europe entered a powerful creative resurgence. Albums including Start from the Dark, Last Look at Eden, Bag of Bones and War of Kings re-established the band as a formidable contemporary rock force, a momentum that continued with Walk The Earth in 2017.
That evolution continues with Come This Madness, released on September 25th via Silver Lining Music / Hell & Back Recordings. Their 12th studio album and first in nine years, it is their most powerful, uncompromising statement to date, channelling tension, truth and raw energy into a record that feels both deeply personal and globally resonant. Led by tracks such as ‘One On One’, a powerful reintroduction built on a driving bass riff and soaring melodies, the album blends Europe’s classic sound with a fresh, modern energy. Recorded at RMV Studio in Stockholm and produced by Tom Dalgety, Come This Madness finds the band fully realised and present, continuing to defy expectations, evolving, adapting, and pushing forward without compromise.
