ABOUT ALCATRAZZ

Alcatrazz returned with purpose and momentum, reasserting themselves as a formidable force in heavy metal after decades away from the studio spotlight. Revitalised for a new era and driven by a hunger to make up for lost time, the band have delivered a run of acclaimed releases that reconnect their storied past with a powerful modern edge.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1983, Alcatrazz quickly established themselves as a unique proposition, blending classic American hard rock with the sharp intensity of British heavy metal. Their debut album No Parole from Rock ’n’ Roll (1983) became an MTV-era favourite thanks to tracks like Island in the Sun, earning chart success in the US and a gold award in Japan. Follow-up releases Live Sentence, Disturbing the Peace and Dangerous Games cemented their reputation for technically accomplished musicianship, melodic ambition and high-impact performances.

Now fully re-energised, Alcatrazz continue to build on that legacy with a fierce creative streak. Their sixth studio album Take No Prisoners, released on 19 May 2023 via Silver Lining Music, showcased the band at full throttle — hard-hitting, melodic and unapologetically powerful. With relentless touring and new material on the horizon, Alcatrazz prove that their trademark blend of precision, power and attitude remains as vital as ever.
