ABOUT MICHAEL MONROE
Michael Monroe is a Finnish rock musician best known as the iconic frontman of Hanoi Rocks, the influential glam punk band whose style, sound and attitude laid the groundwork for generations of hard rock and glam metal that followed. Born Matti Antero Kristian Fagerholm, Monroe rose to prominence in the early 1980s as one of rock ’n’ roll’s most exciting and electric frontmen, defined by high-energy performances, a distinctive voice and unmistakable flamboyance.
Whether with Hanoi Rocks or throughout a fiercely respected solo career, Monroe has always embodied movement, swagger and raw rock ’n’ roll energy. His music blends punk attitude, hard rock power and glam spirit, while his collaborations with artists including Slash, Axl Rose and Steven Van Zandt underline his status as a true peer among rock royalty.
